This section is about various trips that I have made or good railfan spots that I have found. Most trips are rail photography related but some are not. More trip reports and photos will be added over time.

 

More rail hotspots will be added over time. These spots are those that make not come to mind. What makes a good rail Hot Spot? To me, a good spot is one that:

 

bulletEasy accessed by car or train
bulletHigh frequency of trains of various types
bulletGood and/or unusual scenery or trains
bulletAble to be photographed with good results

Pictures Can Tell A Story Too!

 

Below are some photos of my first genuine 4 wheel driving experience - obviously I was the passenger. I took these photos at Menai in New South Wales. There is a wide range of conditions and obstacles to overcome here. Luckily for me, I had a good pilot this day with Muddy in control at all times. I didn't do too bad as a co-pilot for my first time either. I can tell you that it looks just as good from the passenger's seat. Having said that, there is nothing like being there!
